SEMPERVIRENS: desirable objects for a sustainable world.

The exhibition, entitled Sempervirens: desirable objects for a sustainable world, offers a panorama of eco-designed projects, from the perspective of ennobling recycled materials and making the most of local resources.

It brings together a selection of samples whose ecological potential is proven and whose aesthetic potential remains to be refined, as an invitation to reinterpret them!

Meeting the challenges of ecological transition means inventing cleaner manufacturing processes, creating or rediscovering more environmentally-friendly materials, deprogramming the obsolescence of objects - in short, rethinking more virtuous lifestyles. But one more object in a world saturated by mass consumption should systematically carry meaning, use and emotion, and this vigilance is at the heart of the dialogue between designers and artisans.

In the face of environmental urgency, the pieces and research presented in the Sempervirens exhibition express, illustrate and bear witness to the singular role that falls to art craftsmen and designers today: creating sensitive objects for a sustainable world!

Scenography

The exhibition was curated by Grégoire Talon.

Created and developed by Martin Blanchard, a designer based at JAD since September 2022, the Sempervirens scenography echoes the exhibition's theme.

In response to the trend towards disposable set design, Martin Blanchard has opted for a reasoned scenography using eco-designed materials.

The Compressed Earth Bricks that make up the furniture in this exhibition come from the Greater Paris construction sites. Produced by Cycle Terre, they are biodegradable, reusable and local. The furniture will leave no trace, since once the exhibition is over, the materials will return to the construction sites.

Another essential element of the scenography: paper. Beyond its aesthetic dimension, this material is also part of an eco-design approach. The paper techniques used by Procédé Chenel International offer a more responsible alternative for scenographic production.
