Sofia Shazak, Sellier d'Art

Shazak is the acronym of craftswoman Sofia Haccoun-Zakabloukowa, saddler, harness-maker and upholsterer. Trained by the Compagnons du Devoir, she founded Atelier Shazak in 2016, specializing in the art of bespoke leatherwork, and moved to JAD in 2022, where she occupies a workshop. Dedicated to bespoke creations, from prototypes to the manufacture of unique pieces or limited series, Atelier Shazak puts its expertise at the service of designers from all horizons. 

Traditional saddlery, harnessing, fashion, furnishings and decoration, cinema and entertainment, etc... Atelier Shazak deploys its know-how with versatility, exploring the frontiers of its expertise both technically and aesthetically. Research and experimentation nourish its projects, which flirt with art and illustrate its creative approach to shaped leather magnified by the use of traditional techniques, diverted from other materials, or derived from new technologies.

Atelier Shazak works exclusively with leathers sourced in Europe, mainly vegetable-tanned. Environmental concerns and the creation of timeless, long-lasting pieces are at the heart of its philosophy. Atelier Shazak is a member of Ateliers d'Art de France and has been awarded the label Artisan du Tourisme des Hauts-de-Seine.
