Mathilde Faucard, Fresco artist

Mathilde Faucard

Mathilde Faucard is a fresco artist who graduated in 2022 from ENSAAMA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art Moderne).

Nationale des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Arts) in Fresco and Wall Arts. By learning the traditional techniques of plastering and painting "a fresco" (in the fresh), she now creates projects inspired by the plant world, developing her practice around raw materials such as earth, lime and concrete, but also in painting. Between know-how and experimentation with traditional materials, Mathilde seeks to include her decors in our interiors, presenting the wall as a piece of art in its own right. By designing motifs and working with prints, Mathilde explores the richness of our plant biodiversity and attempts to freeze in time the sacred beauty of living things.

Like a herbarium in volume, her projects are an invitation to touch, to feel the volume of plants and to reconnect with matter through our senses. In this quest to suspend time, Mathilde instills the precious, indispensable character of green landscapes. Our natural ecosystems being an inexhaustible source of inspiration, she attempts to anchor the memory of plants in matter. By making the volume of a plant palpable, Mathilde highlights its unique beauty and fragility, which we must preserve.
