JEMA 2024 at JAD
From April 02 to 07, 2024
For the second year running, JAD invites you to join us from April 02 to 07, 2024, for the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art, an event coordinated by the Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français.
On the program: discover the challenges of sustainable fashion with the exhibitionWeaving the Future, Dressing the Body and an introduction to art and craft skills through hands-on workshops for children and families. JAD designers will also be opening the doors of their workshops to let you discover their creative worlds around woodworking, leatherworking, rotogravure, weaving, olfactory design and much more.
OPEN HOUSE
Since its opening in September 2022, JAD has welcomed 15 designers to its workshops: rotogravure printers, cabinetmakers, wood sculptors, saddlers, olfactory designers, textile designers, weavers and more.
Come and discover their worlds, their know-how, and their research and creation projects at this exceptional open house.

TEXTILE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP
Luce Couillet speaks a primal and universal language: that of weaving.
Over the course of an afternoon, the textile craftswoman and visual artist invites you to discover her technique through the creation of a textile sculpture.

JAD welcomes you to the fascinating world of textiles, where the art of creating garments transcends mere utilitarian function to become a form of expression in its own right.
The exhibition takes you on a journey into the world of clothing, which embodies our identity, tells a story and reveals our values and tastes. Prepare to be dazzled by the beauty, creativity and ingenuity of the interwoven threads that weave the links to the future.
And to help you understand all its secrets, there will be mediation points in the gallery.

As part of its educational initiatives, JAD has invited the École Ducasse de Meudon to take part. The students will give a demonstration of pulled sugar, a shaping technique that transforms sugar into an ephemeral sculpture.

Discovering know-how
As part of a partnership with INMA and the Ecole Boulle, JAD is working with students in the DNMADE events program to design mediation tools based on the skills of tapestry, marquetry, jewelry, engraving and seat joinery. These mediation activities will be offered to the public for the first time as part of JEMA 2024 at the JAD.

MAKERLAB
A place for training, production, creation and experimentation, the JAD MakerLab features digitally controlled machines, laser cutters and other 3D printers. This activity will be an opportunity to get to grips with this world of making, and to try your hand at making a small object.

Exceptional Rendezvous
For this latest edition of Rendez-vous d'exception, the JAD and Sèvres Manufacture et Musées Nationaux are offering an exceptional joint event. Join us for a guided tour of the two institutions, and discover the history of fine crafts at both sites, between tradition and contemporary creation.
The factory will showcase its architecture and 19th-century manufacturing heritage. Echoing its history, Le JAD will take visitors into the heart of its 1930s and 1950s buildings.
